The Root Chakras sense of belonging

WHERE DO YOU LIVE? Is it the right spot for your soul?

Are you looking for ways to balance your Root Chakra?

Do you feel awake, alive, and at peace where you currently live?

Do you feel like you belong there? Have you vacationed somewhere that you yearn to go back to? Is something missing in your life and you can’t place it?

We all have a place on earth that invokes inspiration. A place where we naturally heal.

Root Chakra

The Root Chakra is primal in nature. It is instinctual. The part of us that responds to food, clothing, shelter, and protection.

Instinctively, we know these primal needs must be met, but there are degrees of these necessities that breathe life into the Root Chakra.

Did you know…

Your shelter is necessary, but does it matter where your shelter is located on Earth?

Yes!

Individually, we have a unique animal nature that is invigorated by a specific environment. A place on earth where you feel rooted. Where you feel like you belong on this Earth. A place where you feel like you can find your purpose. In other words, a place where you feel like you’ve lived before and intuitively know it’s special.

The energy feels clear and it comes to you clear and inspires you. What type of habitat feels vital to your being? What climate, vegetation, or setting gives your physical body stimulation?

This is a very INDIVIDUAL feeling.

My Experience

As a child, I bounced around California living on a farm full of animals to the average California suburban setting. As a young adult, I found myself in the Las Vegas desert. It was a time when the Las Vegas border was 30 minutes from Mount Charleston. Endless dirt and rocks everywhere. Over time we relocated to Austin Texas. Living minutes from the colorful downtown scene, with corky food trucks and music venues galore. Gorgeous Oak trees surrounded us, but the heat was extreme.

Our final move led us to peace. We decided to move when we were in quarantine. We all know how much time we had on our hands during that time. With time to talk and imagine our future, we hashed out a plan for moving. Our initial location was determined by our Vegan lifestyle. According to HAPPY COW, a vegan foodie site, we came across Portland, Oregon. The Income-tax obligation played a part in our decision, so we decided to move across the river to Vancouver, Washington. Without visiting, we took off!!

I’m home!

Coming out of a mountain and turning onto a road they called, The Gorge. I was home! We were surrounded by large redwood trees with cool temperatures. Hiking trails and waterfalls only minutes away and nature all around. I can’t express how gorgeous it was. It was a scene straight out of The Goonies! Pine and Douglas furs are as big as the high rises in Austin. Although it was raining, it was beautiful! There were moss-covered rocks and air as clean as a freshly wiped pair of glasses.

Washington state was my place! My spirit’s home and place of awakening.

Portland, Oregon trail

That was my journey to find my place. Your journey is up to your spirit’s yearning.

Ask Yourself

Does the view of snow-capped mountains bring peace? Viewing them between large Ponderosa Pine and Douglas fir trees. Can you see yourself sitting among the fallen pine needles and sensing your soul awaken?

Maybe you love the cool coastal views with crashing ocean waves and beach grass growing along the edges of endless sand. You love the fresh chilly air as you bundle up and surround yourself with a roaring campfire.

Can you see yourself on a warm sunny beach? The kind of beach that leaves your skin warm for hours with sand sticking to your legs and arms. The smell of coconut oil, the taste of an iced cold drink, and bath-like water.

Do you need to be surrounded by a body of water? A lake or river thriving with life and abundance. You could play on that lake for hours. You question whether you were a fish in a past life!

Do vast open plains make you feel free?! Open land with a barn and animals everywhere! Trees are scattered in the distance. But all you see and love is the space, the openness of no one around!

Do you imagine yourself surrounded by lush trees and shrubs with a humid layer of moisture on your skin? The rainforest is not just for the animals. Is it a place you can thrive?

Do you love the energetic spirit of the city?! The creation, the feeling of the collective gathered to celebrate and be together in one spot. Where coffee shops, restaurants, and live music are everywhere. You feed off the energy of others and of the lights that never sleep.

Maybe you like the cold. You can adapt to those conditions with ease. Your body temperature is comfortable in the ice and snow. You find yourself challenged by its conditions.

Does the desert ease your achy bones and joints? Do you see the beauty in the cactus and vastness of the land and it feels like home? Is it a place where you can finally rest in its warmth and light?

Make your choice

Much like the teachings of Marie Kondo, which picture sparks joy?! When you read about those locations, does one stand out? Do you get an ache in your Root Chakra? Do you want to visit one of these locations first to find out?

The Root Chakra longs for this connection to this vital life force that comes naturally to it.

If you’re stuck wondering which landscape creates an inspirational connection for you, take some time to think about it. Trust your first instinct. If you live in America, google “Landscapes in America,” and look through each picture to find that one picture or theme you are drawn to. The picture or theme that you keep looking at again and again.

Dig Deeper

Maybe you visited someone or went on vacation where you long to go back. That longing comes from your animal nature grounded in your Root Chakra. Yearning for the land energy that feeds it the most.

I can’t move

Understandably, we all can’t just decide to get up and move to Hawaii! If you can, and that’s your energy spot, then do it!!

If your “power point” on earth is inconvenient because of your life situation, then seek it out in creative ways.

Change your environment now

Vacation in your energy spot at least once a year

If you love the beach, create a themed bathroom or room with beach décor and make it your happy place. A place that sparks joy when you enter!

Create a country bedroom even though you live in the desert! Use your imagination. Make it so real that you buy cowboy boots for no reason!

Bring flowers into your home if you love open vast plains surrounded by nature.

Put up a “Live wall” in your living room full of plants and greenery to bring nature into the home.

Find a favorite tree on your street and create a friendship with it. Name it and talk to it every time you pass it.

Paint a wall blue or tan because it reminds you of the ocean or desert.

Conclusion

It is now time to discover what your Root Chakras instinctual, primal urge is. Where is your soul urging you to have in its world? Bring it into your life through relocation, vacationing, or decorations.

No matter what, connect to nature in all of its forms. Trees, flowers, vast open land, cactus, sea, lakes all give healing energy to your Root. Your Root Chakra seeks this connection. Ground to the earth. Give her love and respect and she will heal you. She loves you beyond our earthly hearts can comprehend.
